Input and output copper wire on a can body welder can be welded quickly and effectively without heat or mess using a PWM cold pressure welder. Unlike electric welders, hand-held portable cold welders can be used anywhere. Even if the wire breaks inside the can body welder, a cold pressure welder with a flat wire die can repair the damage in seconds, saving time, money and hassle.

Cold pressure welders use the 'multiple upset' technique. Essentially, the two ends of the wire are inserted into a die and as the two opposing forces are pushed together under pressure several times, a bond is created of equal strength to that of the parent material.

PWM's cold pressure welders for the canmaking industry are all lightweight and easy to use. Easily operated by a simple scissor action, the popular M30 welder is completely portable. The pneumatically powered HP30 model provides an effortless weld on wire of the same diameter and is portable within the limits of the air supply. The larger M101 machine is a strong, heavy-duty model, with a capacity of 1.00mm up to 3.60mm, which can be supplied trolley-mounted for convenience.
